Succor Creek Campout, November 2008
Sam R., Troop Historian
Troop 112's campsite in November was Succor Creek, site of the 2006 Camporee. After driving along miles of washboard trails, we finally arrived at the camping area. We took longer than anticipated driving there, so we had to set up camp in the dark, but we managed and are better Scouts because of it. After that, we had dinner and went to bed. Saturday morning, we had a short work out led by our SPL, which was followed by breakfast. Then the newer scouts worked on advancements and got TONS of things signed off in their books while the older guys helped teach and played football. We had dinner later that night, after which we had a flag retirement ceremony. We retired close to twenty flags that night, after which every one went to bed. Sunday morning, we got up, took down our tents, and then ate breakfast. After that, we finished taking down camp, than had a church service. Last of all, we did a trash sweep and went home.
