Camp Meriwether 2007
Tyler R., Troop Historian
Dear fellow scouts and scouters,
Our summer camp for 2007 was Camp Meriwether in Western Oregon. We headed out early Saturday morning for OMSI which is the Oregeon Museum of Science & Industry. We spent the night on the OMSI submarine. The next day we made the short trip to Camp Meriwether. We were assigned to adirondacks, whare are three sided little cabins to store gear and sleep in. We started our widely spread different classes on Monday and worked on those through Friday. One of the main classes was the Oceanography merit badge. The week went by on a daily basis of doing classes, eating good food and having some free time after finishing our homework. On Saturday we left for Immigrant Springs, where we slept under the stars. On Sunday we headed for home. It was a great trip!
